Clergy & Staff

It is our goal to cultivate a staff team that works together: modeling healthy relationships, accountability, and a spirit of generosity for each other. We are always looking for ways to improve our ministry community
and appreciate any feedback that you might offer as we work together.

As staff, we are employed to serve the mission of the church, together with the volunteers members of the church community. We want to work together, creating unity at All Saints and discerning God’s desire for us all at this time.

The Rev. Catherine Thompson
    Rector

Rev. Catherine has served as the Priest-in-Charge of All Saints since April of 2023. She finds joy in learning and discovering new things, particularly in the area of congregational development, and is grateful for the many mentors who were willing to share what they have learned to the benefit of all. She enjoys reading, traveling and spending time in nature. She holds degrees from Vassar College and Virginia Theological Seminary. She is married to Mark, and they have two adult children and a 19-year-old toy Poodle, named Mia, who offers daily lessons on the nature of unconditional love.

The Rev. Kathleen Smith-Jones

I have been an Episcopalian since my early 20’s and have been active in lay ministries throughout my adult life. I am a Companion member of Anamchara Fellowship, a dispersed religious community of the Episcopal Church with Celtic roots. I served as a hospice visitor/chaplain from 2011-2015. I was ordained to the diaconate on June 13, 2020, and have been serving as the Frederick Regional deacon since then. All Saints Fredrick and Grace Brunswick were my assigned anchor parishes from July 2020 through August of 2021. From September 2021 through August of 2023 I was assigned to Grace Brunswick and St. Luke’s Brownsville. I have been serving on Diocesan Council since 2022 as the Frederick Regional Representative. I have a passion for serving the marginalized, especially the LGBTQIA+ community.

My wife, Teri, and I have been married for 27 years. I served as a police officer in Kirkwood, MO, and Cheltenham Township, PA, before we “retired” to Rehoboth Beach in 2008. We moved to Lovettsville, VA, in 2015, and enjoy a multigenerational home that includes our oldest daughter, her husband, and two grandchildren (currently ages 6 and 2). Our youngest daughter, her husband and two grandchildren (currently ages 8 and 6) live in Denver, CO, and my middle child, an Episcopal priest, and their family live in Portland, OR. I find peace in taking care of our 5-acre farm which includes two rescue donkeys and our Standard Poodle, Boadi.
