Here’s what’s happening at All Saints’ Episcopal Church!

Here are some of the events and announcement for the coming month:

  • Childcare—With God as our center and parents as our partners, our ultimate goal is to come alongside you and begin to plant the seeds of faith in the hearts and minds of our youngest children. Our preschool / nursery are open from 8:30 am to 11:30 am on Sunday mornings.  You may pack a drink and snack (no peanuts, please)

  • Weekly Bible Study on the Appointed Gospels (Zoom)

    To those of you have have yet to join us, the Gospel Bible Study Zoom will welcome anyone for our Monday night sessions.  Join us when you can, and don’t worry about when you can’t!

    Our Study is guided by the Rev. Elaine Prince on Mondays from 7-8:30 PM.  Our next meeting will be on Monday,      September 4th.  Anyone wishing to study the Gospel reading for the following Sunday may gather on Zoom, hosted by Lynn Gebrowsky

    We will briefly reflect on the previous Sunday’s sermon before we look at the upcoming Gospel.

  • St. Mary’s Chapter First Meeting of the Program Year—St. Mary’s Chapter welcomes back all members and invites anyone interested in joining to our first meeting of the program year on Tuesday, September 5th in the Great Hall from 12:00 pm – 2:00 PM..  This is a deviation from our usual meeting dates, the first Monday of the month, made due to scheduling conflicts.  There will not be a speaker but instead extended fellowship and business discussion as we plan a new program year.  We’ll discuss holding the Candlemas Festival 2024 and approve the Budget for 2023-24.  Annual membership dues of $5 will be payable at this meeting.  Instead of asking members to pay $5 for the monthly lunches, the officers are recommending a Free-Will Offering.

    St. Mary’s Chapter welcomes anyone regardless of age or gender.  Chapter meetings are held during daytime weekday hours.  Our new officers for July 1, 2023 – June 30, 2025, are  President Sara Gibson; 1st VP Linda Procter; 2nd VP June Miller; Treasurer Betty Hedges; Secretary Mac Pittinger; and Past President Darlene Aulls.  For more information contact Sara Gibson (301)371-0811 or June Miller

  • Blue Jean Gala

    Join us in the Delaplaine Barn for Live Music, Square Dancing, Food, Silent Auction and More!

    The Blue Jean Gala features live music and a square dance caller who will guide us through a fun evening (no dance experience necessary). We will also enjoy food and drinks, a silent auction, fun surprises, and a late night DJ. Special tiered pricing for students and young adults!

    Wear your favorite denim, rockabilly, or country western attire. Prizes will be awarded for festive attire. Tickets are limited! Get yours today!

  • Children’s Formation—Children’s Formation begins September 10th. This year classes will be every Sunday during formation hour starting at 9:00am. Please register your child(ren) as soon as possible even if you registered them last year. We are looking forward to an exciting year with lots of fun lessons, activities, crafts, and fellowship with each other.

    A big thank you to everyone who already responded to Rev. Angela’s call to assist with Children’s Formation and/or Children’s Chapel. Your willingness to offer your time and talent is much appreciated and will be a blessing to the children. We are still in need of more helpers so please use the link below to sign up if you feel called to help this important ministry in any way. We are looking forward to a great year!! An email will go out in the upcoming weeks to everyone who signs up detailing next steps.

  • Children’s Church—Do you feel called to help our youngest members get the most out of their worship experience? Are you excited about helping our young ones pray and interact with liturgy?  All Saints’ will begin offering a service designed especially for children ages 3 to 6 years on September 10th (10:00 AM-10:25 AM), and we are looking for volunteers to lead them. The liturgy of the Word will be entirely tailored to young children and will occur in St. Paul’s Chapel at the same time as the regular service in the Historic Church.  At the passing of the peace, our young ones will return to their families for communion, blessing, and dismissal.

    Volunteers will read scripture and pray with the young ones in a way that is developmentally appropriate for their age.  All materials will be provided.  Volunteers will also teach the young ones how to process prayerfully with the children’s cross. in and out of the sanctuary. This is a wonderful opportunity to make worship more meaningful to some of our youngest churchgoers.

    We are asking volunteers to serve one Sunday each month, and we will need two volunteers every Sunday. If you would like to learn more about this beautiful ministry, please reach out to Rev.

  • 2023-2024 Youth Group—We are so excited to announce that registration for the 2023-2024 Youth Group is now open!

    All Youth grades 6th-12th are invited to participate in the All Saints’ Youth Group. We will meet every Sunday immediately following the 10AM service, for learning and fellowship. The first meeting will be Sunday, September 10th from 11:30 AM – 1:00 PM, in the Jr/Sr High Classroom. If you have any questions, please contact Megan Fowle at

  • Support Youth Group by Providing Lunch—This year, the Youth Group will be meeting after the 10AM service, for fellowship and formation. To show support for the Youth, we are hoping parishioners will help provide lunch during these meetings, starting Sunday, September 10th.   • Art Show and Sale for the Benefit of Bright Beginnings—Date:  Sunday, September 10th from 11:30 am – 1:30 pm  (Great Hall)

    All Saints’ member and local artist, Cathy Rogers, will be holding an art show and sale of her artwork. 100% of all proceeds will go to the Bright Beginnings Learning Center in Ponnur, India.

    Cathy Rogers graduated from SUNY Buffalo with a B.S. in Education with an Art Concentration. She received her M.S. from SUNY Fredonia in Reading. In addition to a long career as a Reading Specialist and Dyslexia Teacher Trainer, Cathy has taken many classes and workshops in drawing, watercolor and pastels.

    She has been a student Jean Hirons (accomplished pastel artist and author of Finding Your Style in Pastel) since January of 2021. Cathy’s work has been exhibited at the Artists Gallery of Ellicott City MD, the Laurel Art Guild in Laurel MD, The Artists Gallery (TAG) and the Delaplaine Arts Center in Frederick MD.

    Cathy is the author of two books of children’s poetry: No Fish and Decodable Poems and Word Searches for Reading and Spelling Practice. She is also the author and illustrator of Can you find the abcs?

    Cathy has a desire to capture a scene in nature that evokes in her a feeling of awe and wonder of God’s creation and share that with others. Through your purchase of Cathy’s art, you will be sharing your treasure with Bright Beginnings, a learning center for children in Ponnur, India, that is supported by All Saints.

  • Gourmet Night is upon us!—Our September 13th offering is a Nod to Spain.  The cost is $39.00 per person with wine pairings for $10.00 supplement (paid at the door).  Prepaid reservations are required.  Tickets are selling out fast.  Five (5) remaining.

    An Amuse Bouche followed by:

    Course 1:  Gazpacho
    Course 2:  Flash seared calamari and artichokes with a garlic, lemon and sherry sauce
    with crusty bread for dipping.
    Course 3:  Double cut rack of lamb chop with a pistachio pesto and lavender honey aoli
    served on Moraccan Couscous.
    Course  4:  Coconut Flan

  • Annual Golf Tournament

    Attention All Saints Golfers!

    We are looking for 4 golfers to represent All Saints at this tournament on Monday September 18th.  If you want to participate and would like to invite friends to form a team that’s fine too!

    Location – Clustered Spires Golf Course
    8:00 AM Registration
    9:00AM Start

    All golfers receive a light breakfast, lunch, use of practice facilities, and 18 holes of golf Lunch served after the tournament, followed by 50/50 raffle drawing, door prize drawings, silent auction, and individual and team prize.

    All proceeds will benefit Frederick County Homeless families.

  • Explore Local History with AARCH – Join AARCH tour guides for an informative exploration of local history on All Saints Street and the surrounding area. Learn about the cultural and historical importance of the neighborhood that was the center of the African American community until the early 1960s. Tickets are $10 for teens and adults and $5 for children ages 6-12.  Group rates are available for groups of 8 or more.     Walking the Mourner’s Path is a ministry of healing and connection for those feeling disconnected after the death of a loved one or other significant life loss.

  • September – Frederick Community College Food Lockers/Pantry

    Frederick Community College provides free food to their students in need via food lockers/pantry. Requesting donations of nonperishable food items, listed below, to assist in stocking the lockers/pantry. Donations may be left in the marked boxes located in the lower gathering space. Questions?   • Men’s Ministry— Men from All Saints’ are invited to participate in the Men’s Ministry which meets for breakfast from 8:30 AM-10:00 AM, on the first Saturday of the Month, in Parish Hall. The purpose of the group is to foster connections between the men of the church and give guys the opportunity to talk about.

    * What’s going on in their lives.
    * Where they are finding the Spirit leading them.
    * Ideas about how we can work together to accomplish projects for the good of the community.

    We often use books or parts of the bible as a catalyst for discussion.  Please join us any first Saturday or just let us know you would like to hear about Men’s Group activities going forward and we will add you to the email list.   For more information, please contact Dan Huebner at or Randy Querry at Coffee and snacks are provided.
