Restructuring of Outreach Ministry:
As of July 31, Linda Miller, will be stepping down as the lay leader of the Outreach Ministry. It has been her honor and blessing to serve in this capacity since 2018. She is very grateful for the incredible support of the parishioners and clergy, and for our ministry partners both near and far. She will still be involved in outreach, serving as a bridge during this time of transition, focusing on our partnership with Bright Beginnings in Ponnur, India, and deepening her call to serve as a spiritual guide/companion. She’ll be completing her two-year formation program with Shalem Institute in this December.
Going forward, this will be the organizational “flow” of outreach. Each month we will “shine the light” on one specific ministry partnership. Support of that ministry partnership may continue throughout the year, but that ministry will be highlighted for one month. There will be a specific outreach activity during the month which supports that outreach partner. For example, in December, we will focus on Centro Hispano. The outreach activity in December will be sponsoring 21 Centro Hispano children for Christmas and a holding a concurrent diaper drive. We will no longer have monthly diaper drives. For the month of December outreach updates in the eblast will focus on Centro Hispano. Outreach leadership will consist of an overall lay leader and 12 supporting leaders/co-leaders who will each focus on one ministry partner. We have already had folks step up to help be leaders.
