Music at All Saints’ Episcopal Church

Music Can Lift Us Up
All Saints’ has a rich and varied music tradition. Music ministry plays a dynamic role in our faith community, leading us in worship and cultivating opportunities to make music whenever we gather. Worship and prayer are woven into the life of our parish.

A Century of Music & Worship
While not every service has music, song has been an important part of worship for nearly a century at All Saints’. In addition to our Adult Sanctuary choir, we also have a hand bell choir known as “All Saints’ Ringers.” The vocal choirs and handbell choir support our worship and perform at special services and concerts throughout the year. All Saints’ music also features prominently at Frederick’s annual Candlelight Tour of Historic Houses of Worship.

MUSIC DIRECTOR SEARCH
All Saints’ is looking for a fulltime Director of Music Ministry. Our music ministry leads us in worship and cultivating opportunities to make music whenever we gather. We seek a leader who will work with us to cast a vision of music ministry that honors musical tradition while introducing us to new musical experiences. Our Music Director will lead the traditional sanctuary choir plus our handbell choir, and will work with us to reimagine our Youth and contemporary music programs.

SANCTUARY CHOIR
Open to high schoolers with choral experience and adults, the Sanctuary Choir leads the 10 a.m. traditional choral eucharist service in the Historic Church. We also conduct seasonal evensong services as well as Advent (e.g., Lessons and Carols) and Christmas holiday celebrations and a full holy week liturgy plus occasional concerts.
ALL SAINTS’ RINGERS
All Saints’ Ringers uses our 3 octave set of bell and chimes and plays special services throughout the year. Handbell choir members need to be able to read music, and attendance at rehearsals is essential to the success of this group. Please contact us if you are interested in learning more about this wonderful opportunity.
ALL SAINTS’ INSTRUMENTS
All Saints’ musical instruments include our Allen organ, which was purchased and installed in 2016. The three-manual organ has over 70 stops and six divisions. Our historic Roosevelt organ was built in 1826 and has 245 pipes and five stops. We also have two baby grand pianos.
