Book Study: Just Mercy
The Truth and Reconciliation committee will host its next Readings and Conversations gatherings in March. Just Mercy: A Story of Justice and Redemption by Bryan Stevenson will be presented in a 3-part series:
- March 1 (Tuesday) – Discussion of the book Just Mercy via Zoom, 7:00 p.m. Note the date change, because of Ash Wednesday
- March 12 (Saturday) – Presentation of the movie Just Mercy – This will be an in-person
gathering with place and time TBD. - Date TBD – Presentation/conversation about Restorative Justice

John Grisham writes of Stevenson, “Not since Atticus Finch has a fearless and committed lawyer made such a difference in the American South. Though larger than life, Atticus exists only in fiction. Bryan Stevenson, however, is very much alive and doing God’s work fighting for the poor, the oppressed, the voiceless, the vulnerable, the outcast, and those with no hope. Just Mercy is his inspiring and powerful story.”
